Photography
Various photography projects.
During my time studying photography as an A-Level in college, various topics and photographers were explored to teach us different styles of photography for us to experiment with and learn. The projects showcased above focused on layered and environment photography.
I utilised both these styles of photography in my final exhibition and exam, as they were my favourite techniques and styles of photography. The images created allowed further skills and experimentation to develop in Photoshop with colours, placement, saturation and many more techniques.
The first image in the slide show is a layered image of the Printworks in Manchester. The colourful accents of the building and the iconic Printworks sign worked perfectly with the layering idea to create an abstract and interesting image.
Manchester’s China Town Arch was photographed (image three) in which saturation was heavily used to create a vibrant image. The arch stature is still visible but is made more vibrant with the colours and the layers.
Environment photography was one of my favourite projects during my time studying the subject as there are various techniques you can use when taking photos of nature. Image five uses the technique depth of field in which the background of the photo is blurred but the main focus is high definition, creating a close up, sharp image.
Overall, studying photography allowed me to develop my knowledge on the technical aspects of photography, further my knowledge of photographers as well as allowed me to experiment and explore my creativity.
