Market research for a new start up fashion company. 

I was asked to complete a task for a new start-up brand creating four SWOT analysis of any competitor's social media in which I chose SLA the Label, Sisters and Seekers, MissGuided, and Nikki Studios. I aimed to choose relevant brands that I thought would be competitors so I chose smaller brands due to the new brand being a start-up, it is more likely to have competition with smaller brands than big established ones. However, I still chose MissGuided as a competitor due to the similar style of clothing and the message of the new brand. I had to analyze each brand's social media accounts and come up with their strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats which gave me a good understanding of how different brands utilize social media and how they differentiate between the different channels to promote themselves. 

I then had to create a mock-up Instagram feed of how I think the new brand would present themselves on Instagram. I chose a variety of images from product photos, flat lays, behind the scenes, mirror images, street style, and logos to fully present the brand's image, identity and style while also promoting the products in an effective and aesthetically pleasing manner. 

To add on to this I created how the brand would launch on Instagram and TikTok, compiling together examples of launch posts, how often they should post, what captions to use, how to grow the brand on social media, and how to market the launch to their following. This enabled me to gain an understanding of the steps a start-up brand goes through to promote and create anticipation online, allowing further knowledge to be gained that I can utilize with a job role to create content ideas and a schedule.
